ALTOONA, Pa (WJAC) — A Human Rights march is scheduled to take place in Altoona Saturday evening, according to organizers.
The march will begin at 5 p.m. at the Heritage Plaza in downtown Altoona.
The route will proceed as follows:
- 11th Street to 17th Street
- Across the 17th Street bridge to 1st Avenue
- Make a U-turn on 1st Avenue and head north on 17th Street towards 6th Avenue
- Turn right on 6th Avenue and travel east to 13th Street
- Take 13th Street to 9th Avenue, then turn left back onto 17th Street
- Finally, take 17th Street north to 11th Avenue, make a right and head back to Heritage Plaza
Organizers are warning motorists to expect delays and if possible, seek alternate routes.
Altoona police will assist the marchers to ensure the safety of the community, organizers add.
