Officials from the arena notified the team in a letter that it will not seek a second five-year lease because the team paid invoices for ice time and rent late, failed to deliver game and practice schedules on time and allowed fans to bring outside food and beverages into the arena, the newstimes.com reported.
The Whalers, who have led the Federal Hockey League in attendance each of the last five seasons, are denying the claims made in the letter, newstimes.com said.
