DUBOIS, Pa. — A new dinosaur attraction recently opened its doors in Clearfield County.
Doolittle’s Dinosaurs is located at Dr. Jeffrey Rice’s Doolittle Station on Rich Highway in DuBois.
“Since there is a universal appeal of dinosaurs and I like dinosaurs from seeing some of the Jurassic Park movies, I became hooked,” Rice said.
Rice teamed up with the county’s tourism authority to create a unique destination for locals and out of town guests.
“We need family-friendly activities and I feel this will be one,” Rice said. “There seems to be draw towards dinosaurs both from the young and the old.”
The exhibit features more than 20 dinosaurs.
Some are animatronic and move, breathe and roar.
Kids can also dig for fossils or ride a dinosaur.
Rice said other dinosaur exhibits are outside or move to new locations after several months.
He said he’s ordered another batch of dinosaurs with hopes of expanding the exhibit.
“I want to compete with the outdoor exhibits,” Rice said. “I want the biggest in the state and hopefully the biggest in the country and one of the most unique.”
Doolittle’s Dinosaurs is open Friday through Sunday. Rice said hours will expand in the summer.
The cost of admission is $3.
