CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — It’s another big weekend at Penn state with the Nittany Lion football team taking on Auburn Saturday night at Beaver Stadium.
It's expected to be a capacity crowd at the stadium for the white out game and thousands of fans are already in Happy Valley.
At the Grange Fairgrounds, there’s a lot of experience and room for RV parking.
A lot of RV's were already there Friday, along with a sizeable contingent from Auburn.
There was a group of Auburn fans hydrating, er, having breakfast Friday morning.
They just got their first look at Beaver Stadium.
“We went there yesterday, and it looks to be a nice stadium,” says Paul Taylor. “I think you all have us up in the nosebleed section, somewhere in the corner up there.”
When Penn State's stadium RV lot was damaged due to a storm this week, the delay in parking there sent a lot of the Auburn folks to the Grange Fairgrounds.
“They were lined up yesterday,” said Darlene Confer. “They're excited to be here and continuing this series with Penn State. Inviting us down there for the game next year.”
Penn Staters tailgating there say the visitors are a cordial bunch.
“Yeah its good,” says Joe Fenstermaker. “We’re all here for the same reason, to have fun.”
As for the Auburn perspective on the game
“I think it’s going to be a close game with two teams evenly matched. We have a lot of spirit and hopefully that can overcome the whiteout.”
It’s expected several hundred RV tailgaters will be at the Grange Park this weekend.
As for Penn State game, RV parking at Grange Park, it’s not just this weekend.
They do it throughout the season with shuttle buses running between there and State College.
